The thought of the smiths reuniting at coachella sends instant chills down my spine and makes me smile. I think how great it would be to make the trip out to indio with my friends. the ones who stayed with me late after the parties to dance to smiths while drinking beers, the ones who payed that buck to listen to this charming man at the local dive bar, with the friends who sang along with me to smiths karaoke.
But then the thoughts of a smiths reunion quickly turn sour. NO! the smiths have this quality of unattainability that would be forever lost if such a reunion where to occur. The odds of a smiths reunion is in reality not very likely. Though it seems that Morrissey and Marr have moved beyond their conflict of interest that ended the band in 1987, there is still much hatred with the rest of the band. Morrissey and Marr were sued by drummer Joyce in 1997, over songwriting royalties and won. Morrissey and Marr probably resent the fact that they moved on into their own solo careers, while the rest of the band try to live off the past.

It was the best and worst decision at the same time!

What is Oki Dog? It is a shack, run by some dudes that look like characters from a John Steinbeck novel. Somehow smoking while playing arcade games is totally ok. And never quite sure if they are going to take your order.
Last night after my radio show a few of us from the station went down to Oki Dog located on Fairfax and Willoughby. I had their world famous oki dog, two hot dogs in chilly and pastrami wrapped with cheese and in side a tortilla. While watching the grease drip from my oki dog, we got to catch a WWF match on tv (i cant believe the undertaker is till around).
Prices are really cheap, but i guess the cost are hidden elsewhere.

Last night we made it out to the Los Feliz area to make out to a house party. As usual these parties turn out to be pretty lame, so we decided to hit up the Redwood Bar and Grill on 2nd street downtown. Surprised by the 5 dollar cover charge we decided to go to one of my favorite places, Bar 107. It doesn't take much for a bar to make me happy, this one accomplishes the task by selling tall cans and playing pretty awesome music about 80% of the time.
Then we ended up at Fred 62's
Now why we always seem to end up there surprises me. We are usually a large party and finding seating usually takes longer than 20 minutes. The food is pretty alright but probably not worth the wait. I think really the main reason is just the crowd and location. Last night we saw darryl from the office. That was pretty great for me since the Office is the only T.V. show that I follow.

So in viewing this and the video where a McCain supporter called Obama an Arab, I am beginning to think that a large number of Americans really do think that Obama could be a terrorist. What I wanna understand is how the people on these videos are arriving to this conclusion? Are they being simply told this information and why are they so quick to accept it? So I am going to offer a few possible explanations for what we are seeing.

First people make, "Important decisions and judgments on the basis of sparse information, haphazardly combined" ( Deborah Welch Larson ) For example, someone cuts you off. You automatically assume that person is a dumb stupid driver. Never mind that about 5 blocks earlier you accidently cut someone off and that your the first person that driver has ever cut off. People make judgements based on whatever limited information we have. For example I watched a series of videos just now about mobs at McCain Palin rallies. Now because I saw a lot of people making fools of themselves, I shouldn't assume that all Americans think this way. I would be basing my observation on videos not real evidence.

People or voters during an election period are attempting to explain the events in the news and draw inferences about who would be the better president. However most people do not go about making a world view in a very scientific way. Instead they break up the actions they see as either part of someone's natural disposition versus situational. So somehow these voters have arrived to the conclusion that McCain is a good American leader and that Obama is naturally a terrorist. For example the first person who is asked if Obama is a terrorist, the man talks about Obama going to an islamic school and that somehow that will make him more likely to be a terrorist. Instead the man does not see the situational aspect to Obama's early childhood.

This could go on forever but being a former political science student, i felt that i should say something. Even if no one really cares to read it.

Dirty Mind proves not only that prince is pretty much one of the best artist of all time, but that no subject matter is too taboo. With songs like "Do it all night long" and ode to sex, "Head" about a bride to be who is forced to give head there is no limitation to any subject matter. As for the music, prince pretty much did it all from new wave to funk. "Uptown" is probably one of the best songs ever.

Lou Reed recorded this album in 1975 in his New York apartment. He took several guitars and altered their tuning. Then he stood the guitars in front of large amps. Since the feedback, volume and distortion of the amps where so loud, they vibrated the strings on the guitars so that the guitars were actually playing themselves. Though the album is broken up into four tracks, the whole album is meant to be played continually. The side four of the vinyl actually formed a locked groove that when played would be played continuously.

They Fucking look like capri sun, but they really are shots in a plastic bag. Disneyland was my second encounter with pocket shots. I pounded one while on the Haunted Mansion. I actually felt kind of dorky doing so.
Ben introduced me to pocket shots while at rockview (a liquor store named after a milk brand) We struck up a conversation with one of the workers there. He mentioned that band members from pennywise come by and buy pall malls.

Delorean for Sale at Eagle Rock

I got to wear my smiths t-shirt to gay day at disneyland, however the day was cut short thanks to Miley's sweet 16 party.
Saturday night while at the Eagle Rock street festival i came across a Delorean for sale. I guess times are pretty rough when your looking to sell your Delorean.
Friday night after David Byrne, (still bummed out there was no brian eno at a show titled songs of david byrne and brian eno) Eric got ben and i to catch a smiths cover band titled los esmiths (from calexico).
